Recently, The Rt. Rev. Dr. Jered Kalimba appointed Rev Pastor Prosper Karasira as the new Principal of Hanika Anglican Integrated Polytechnic.
Rev Prosper holds A3 Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics, A2 in Education, and A0 in Theology, and is a Master’s candidate in Theology and Development. He has been a Pastor of the Anglican Church of Rwanda for many years. He has held several positions within the Diocese: Parish Pastor, Director of a Secondary School, etc. Lastly, he worked at the Diocese Head Office as Chaplain to the Bishop as well as Head of Education and Youth Department.
Hanika AIP that Prosper is called a director is a private Polytechnic, which depends on the Anglican Diocese of Shyogwe. It is located in Gihisi Village, Kavumu Cell, Busasamana Sector , Nyanza District, Southern Province of Rwanda. It started in 1986 as Technical Institute of Hanika offering Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Electricity and Construction. Since 2012 Hanika Technical Institute was combined with Saint Emmanuel College of Hanika to form Hanika Technical Secondary School with two additional trades: Accountancy and Computer Science.
Shyogwe Diocese as the school owner decided to expand the school by upgrading the options taught in Technical Secondary School by offering Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology.
