SHYOGWE DIOCESE CELEBRATES HAVING THE COUNTRY’S NUMBER 1 STUDENT IN 2020/2021

Minister of State for primary and secondary education

On November 15, 2021 the Ministry of Education released the results of National examinations for students who completed their secondary studies in the year 2020/2021. These students who sat for 2020/2021 National Examinations are grouped into three categories, namely:  General education (GE), Technical and vocation education and training (TVET) and teacher training colleges (TTC).  Among the three categories, the TTC performed well.

Mr. Nsengiyumva Théogène, who completed the secondary studies from TTC Muhanga Church School, has got 91/100 which is the country’s first mark in all teacher training colleges. Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education, Mr. Gapard Twagirayezu presented Mr. Théogène with special rewards for being the first teacher-student.

Théogène’s mother  who attended the rewarding ceremony at National level had great joy for the success of her son and Mrs Jean d’Arc  Mukabatesi, the principal of TTC Muhanga said that Théogène has always been smart, active  and courageous in his studies.  And Mr. Bosco Hategekimana Théogène’s class teacher said that Théogène was very supportive to his fellow students.  In his classroom of 52 students, 47 got distinction and 5 got satisfaction, which is really a great achievement.

The Bishop and legal representative of Shyogwe Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Jered Kalimba has sent a word of congratulations to the management team of TTC Muhanga and to Mr. Théogène, in particular.

The head of education department in Shyogwe Diocese, Mr. SEBAHIRE Marcel, also sent congratulations and encouraged all other Diocese schools to always keep the excellence in teaching and educating young Rwandans.
